Abstract

Objectives; The perfect attractive smile is considered one of the most imperative demands. Patients currently seek dental treatment to enhance esthetics rather than function. An ideal smile is composed of the integration between the lips, teeth and gingivae. Data; The etiology of the gummy smile is known for commonly having multifactorial causes. It can be attributed to alterations of soft and/or hard tissue as well as to the dentoalveolar morphology. The diagnostic key for an unattractive smile is the position and support of the upper lip since the lip follows what lies beneath
