Violence against women is a social phenomenon that is present in society; It is usually the main cause of many problems with serious consequences presented in mental and psychological health, it is found in various fields. The objective of this research was to analyze violence against women in an urban parish (2019-2022). The study was qualitative-quantitative, descriptive, analytical and purposeful, using the relational, retrospective and conclusive methodological design. As methods the inductive-deductive stand out; synthetic-analytical, statistical and bibliographical. The techniques used were surveys and interviews, accompanied by the review of documents from the cantonal headquarters for the establishment of statistical analysis. The results showed that cases of violence against women increased in the period 2020 and 2021 as a result of the confinement due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the highest rates were reflected in psychological, physical and sexual violence. Among the essential causes, alcoholism, lack of values, poor cultural and educational level, among others, were identified.
