Abstract

“Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs)” are a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. Statins, a class of drugs that lower cholesterol levels, have been widely used for the prevention of CVDs. However, there are concerns about over-prescription of statins, leading to potential harm and unnecessary healthcare costs. Therefore, it is essential to assess the appropriate use of statins in clinical practice. The aim of this study is to assess the prescription patterns of statins for the prevention of CVDs in a cross-sectional observation study.
