Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease of the supporting tissues of the teeth. For thousands of years, various herbal products have been used for chemotherapeutic purposes as adjunct to nonsurgical therapy. AIM: Compare the effects of subgingival irrigation with aloe vera and 0.2% CHX an adjunct to scaling and root planing on level of salivary ALP and total protein in treatment of chronic periodontitis with current smokers.
