Background: The use of insulin‐sensitising agents, such as metformin, in women who are undergoing ovulation induction or in vitro fertilisation (IVF) cycles is a valuable point of study. Metformin reduces hyperinsulinaemia and suppresses the excessive ovarian production of androgens.
