Hospital sewage is one of the important sources of discharge of antibiotic residue in environment. When disposed improperly, antibiotics can cause complex impacts on environment, such as development of antimicrobial resistance. It is necessary to remove such antibiotic residues from the hospital sewage. Considering this fact, the present work was carried out to evaluate the possibility of applying advanced oxidation processes for removal of ampicillin antibiotic residue from aqueous solution.
