Abstract

Background: The efficacy of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in the bariatric setting is less well defined. Herein, we studied the impact of ERAS implementation protocol on the outcome of laparoscopic bariatric procedures. Methods: In this prospective randomized trial, sixty patients were enrolled, and they were randomly assigned into two groups: Group A consisted of patients who underwent the ERAS protocol, while Group B consisted of the remaining patients who underwent the traditional pathway of care.
