The rich cultural heritage of Assam is closely intertwined with the vibrant tradition of beverage consumption. Objective: The scientific works aims to explore the history of beverages in Assam and its socio-cultural dynamics with the advent of Britishers in Assam in the year 1826. Material and method: a comprehensive understanding of beverages, cultural significance and socio cultural dynamics by reviewing the origin, historical development and transformation of beverage culture of Assam. Findings of the study will contribute to the preservation of beverage heritage; promote cultural awareness and offers valuable insights for stakeholders and policy makers of the state. Conclusion: It may be concluded that this study seeks to provide valuable insights into history of traditional alcoholic beverages of Assam its socio-cultural dynamics, economic activities and global interactions
