The research work was focused to investigate antimicrobial activity of Bixin, extracted from Bixa orellana L. seed. Bixin can be used as a decoction or an infusion to treat bacterial infections, according to the literature. Soxhlet extraction was used to carry out extraction on dried seed powder. At concentrations ranging from 1000 ug/ml to 5000 ug/ml, B. orellana seed extract significantly inhibited the pathogens.
