Topical fungal infections are a common dermatological concern affecting a significant population worldwide. Tolnaftate, a well-established antifungal agent, has been widely used for treating such infections. However, conventional ointments have limitations in delivering the drug effectively to the target site due to their large particle size and poor skin penetration. In this study, we aimed to formulate and evaluate a novel nano-ointment of Tolnaftate to enhance its therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of topical fungal infections. The nanoointment was prepared using a high-pressure homogenization technique, which enabled the reduction of Tolnaftate particles to nanoscale dimensions, thus improving its skin penetration and bioavailability.
