Olmesartan medoxomil (OLM) is a prodrug of Olmesartan, a selective AT1 subtype angiotensin-II receptor antagonist used widely for the treatment of hypertension. Although OLM has excellent performance against the treatment of hypertension, but its low bioavailability (BA), approximately 26% in humans, due to its low water solubility and efflux by drug resistance pumps in the gastrointestinal tract limits its use in pharmaceutical industry. OLM being class II drug has low solubility and thus this leads to poor absorption and low bioavailability
