Abstract

Objective: The Glibenclamide matrix tablet were prepared using hydrophilic polymers (HPMC complex i.e. HPMC(E4) + calcium phosphate in various proportions as release retarding agent to prolong the drug release and to improve the patience compliance. Methods: The matrix tablets were prepared by direct compression method. The prepared matrix tablets were subjected to thickness, friability, weight variation test, drug content, hardness, swelling index and in vitro release studies. The drug excipients compatability was evaluated by FTIR studies.
