Abstract

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) has emerged as a significant health concern globally, affecting millions of individuals and posing substantial challenges to both patients and their families. This study aims to delve into the intricate relationship between CKD and family dynamics, shedding light on the pervasive and enduring effects on parents and children. Aim: The primary objective of this research is to comprehensively analyze the impact of chronic kidney disease on family dynamics, with a specific focus on the long-term challenges faced by parents and children. By understanding the multifaceted nature of these challenges, the study aims to contribute valuable insights to healthcare professionals, policymakers, and support networks involved in the care and management of CKD patients. Methods: This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather a diverse range of data. A cross-sectional survey will be conducted among families affected by CKD to quantify the prevalence and severity of challenges. Additionally, in-depth interviews with selected participants will provide rich qualitative data, allowing for a deeper understanding of the emotional, social, and economic implications of CKD on family life. The research will be conducted ethically, ensuring confidentiality and informed consent. Results: The findings of this research will offer a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted impact of CKD on family dynamics. Quantitative data will provide statistical insights into the prevalence and intensity of challenges, while qualitative data will illuminate the lived experiences of affected families. Results will be presented in a comprehensive manner, categorizing challenges into distinct domains such as emotional well-being, financial burden, and social relationships. Conclusion: The study's conclusions will highlight the enduring challenges faced by parents and children in families dealing with chronic kidney disease. By synthesizing both quantitative and qualitative data, this research aims to contribute to a holistic understanding of the long-term effects on family dynamics. The implications of these findings extend to healthcare practices, social support systems, and policy development, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of life for families affected by CKD.
