Abstract

Background Patients' rights is always been a sensitive issue faced worldwide. The number of legal litigation cases against healthcare practitioners in any country depends on patient rights given by the state. We can assume that the rights are given the more is the violations and subsequent legal litigation cases for these violations. In this case if we give less rights to patients the situation goes to violations of patients basic human rights. In this context there has always been a search for excellent scenario with reference to rights of the patient. In the year 2006, the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia defined the patient’s rights to preserve and protect patients and their families as Patients Bill for Rights and Responsibilities [PBR].In authors point of view, these rights are very balance and complete at multiple parameters with special provision for children, elderly, patient with disability, Cancer Patients, AIDS Patient, Mental Patients, Women Health, Companion, Rights at Reception, Laboratory Department, Pharmacy Department and Radiology Department. Responsibilities of the Patients, accompanying persons, Visitors and Responsibilities of Clinics, Private Facilities etc. are very well described but are not within the purview of present manuscript. Aim of the study: To assessment the impact of Hospitalized Patients ’Awareness of their Rights in Saudi Arabia 2022. Methods: Across sectional descriptive study conducted among hospitalized patients in the internal medicine and general surgery wards in three large hospitals during the study period were eligible for the study in Saudi Arabia 2022 during July, 2022 to September 2022, Our total Sample size of participants were (500) Results: show that most of them aged over 60 years were (36.0%) , gender the most participant male were (67.0%), Knowledge among the awareness of patient about their rights show regarding Knowledge while a significant relation were (P-value =0.001) and X2 (23.760) the majority of participant in poor knowledge were (61.0%) while the high knowledge were (39.0%) Conclusion: most of the clients were not conscious of their individual health rights, the majority of patients reported that healthcare providers did a poor job of protecting their patients’ rights at the end it is concluded that patients’ rights are very well documented, protected and applied in Saudi Arabia. It is also concluded that Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia is a role model when we talk in terms of Patient Rights and Responsibilities.
