Abstract

Endophytes are a group of microorganisms which colonize in the tissue of live plant which benefits plants for uptake of nutrition, nitrogen fixation, defence against pathogens, and symbiosis associated without harming the host plant. Bamboos belong to angiosperms, order monocotyledons grass family Poaceae. Green gold is a nickname for bamboo. The shoots which are a very healthy vegetable. The present research study is focused to isolate endophytic bacteria from edible Bamboo shoot species Dendrocalamus asper and Dendrocalamus strictus, collected from Mekeri, Kodagu region.
