A novel hydrazide-hydrazone derivative, (E)-N'-(furan-2-ylmethylene)furan-2-carbohydrazide, was synthesized by simple synthesis using methanol as a solvent with a high yield. The proton NMR spectra confirmed the formation of (E)-N'-(furan-2-ylmethylene) furan-2-carbohydrazide. The compound was investigated for antimicrobial activities against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans via a zone of inhibition assay. The molecule was then examined for anti-inflammatory activity using the paw edema method and showed appreciable performance. The molecule was further analyzed for antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities against 6S6M and COX5 receptors, respectively. Four possible types of stable orientations were observed and the interactions are investigated.
