Falls among the elderly population are a significant public health concern, often leading to serious injuries and complications. Nurse-led initiatives have emerged as a crucial strategy in preventing falls in the geriatric department. This review article aims to explore the various nurse-led interventions and programs implemented to reduce the risk of falls among older adults. The effectiveness of these initiatives, their impact on fall rates, and the challenges faced in their implementation will be critically analyzed. Additionally, this review will highlight the role of nurses in fall prevention, emphasizing their unique position to assess, educate, and intervene in the care of older adults at risk of falling. By synthesizing current evidence and best practices, this review seeks to provide insights into the role of nurses in preventing falls and improving the safety and quality of care for elderly patients in the geriatric department.
