High-risk pregnancies pose unique challenges that require specialized knowledge and skills to ensure the safety and well-being of both the mother and the baby. Nurses and midwives play a pivotal role in the multidisciplinary team caring for these women, providing essential support, education, and monitoring throughout the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods. This review examines the various aspects of care provided by nurses and midwives in high-risk pregnancy settings, including risk assessment, patient education, emotional support, and coordination of care with other healthcare professionals. Additionally, the article discusses the importance of collaboration and communication among healthcare team members to optimize outcomes for women with high-risk pregnancies. By highlighting the valuable contributions of nurses and midwives in this specialized area of care, this review aims to enhance understanding of their roles and promote best practices in managing high-risk pregnancies.
