Abstract

Carthamus tinctorius L. is a wild edible plant that is widely consumed in several regions of Chhattisgarh as well as the neighboring states. In this study, we investigated the phytochemical composition and antibacterial activity of the leaves of C. tinctorius L. collected from different locations. The phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of various bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, carbohydrates, flavonoids, tannins and phenolic compounds.
