Self Help Groups are community volunteer organizations that come together to address issues like poverty, illiteracy, violence, etc. Women coming together for a common cause are a big reason why self-help groups are so well known. These organizations are particularly active in rural communities and actively support rural development. Both registered and unregistered, the government provides financial assistance to these organizations and supports their growth so they can build various industries that would help rural areas thrive.
