In this study, a library of new 4-[6-chloro-2-arylaminoethyl-4-oxoquinazolin3(4H)-yl] benzoic acid (Q1-Q16) were synthesized and evaluated for their in vivo antidiabetic activity. All the compounds were prepared in a multistep process involving the initial preparation of 5-chloro-N-acetyl anthranilic acid which was converted to 4-[6-chloro2-methyl-4-oxoquinazolin-3(4H)-yl] benzoic acid
