The emergence of multidrug-resistant bacteria has become a global health concern, necessitating the development of novel and effective antibacterial agents. Heterocyclic compounds have garnered significant attention due to their diverse chemical structures and promising biological activities. This review paper provides an overview of recent advances in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds and their evaluation for anti-bacterial activities. The paper discusses different heterocyclic scaffolds, their synthetic approaches, and the mechanisms underlying their antibacterial potential. Furthermore, it highlights the challenges and future prospects in the field of heterocyclic compound development as antibacterial agents.
