Background: Low back pain (LBP) is a common condition that affects millions of people worldwide. Quadratus lumborum (QL) myofascial pain is a common cause of LBP. Muscle energy techniques (METs) are a form of manual therapy that have been shown to be effective in treating LBP. Methods: A total of 30 patients with LBP of QL myofascial origin were randomly assigned to either a MET group or a control group. The MET group received 10 sessions of METs, while the control group received no treatment. The primary outcome measure was the change in pain intensity, as measured by the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Secondary outcome measures included the change in range of motion for side-flexion, tenderness, and Oswestry Disability Index.
