This research paper examines the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots on teacher-student relationships in higher education. As AI chatbots become more prevalent in educational settings, understanding their effects on the dynamics of education is critical. This study adopts a mixed-methods approach, encompassing online surveys and semi-structured interviews to gather data from both teachers and students. The results indicate that AI chatbots can offer several advantages, such as enhanced efficiency and accessibility, potentially improving the quality of teacher-student interactions. However, concerns emerged regarding potential depersonalization of education, technical errors, and data privacy issues. The findings suggest a mixed impact of AI chatbots on teacher-student relationships, underscoring the need for careful, thoughtful implementation of this technology. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the integration of AI in education, providing valuable insights for educators, policy-makers, and EdTech developers. Future research should continue to explore these themes as AI becomes increasingly ingrained in the educational landscape.
