Hand hygiene is a fundamental aspect of infection control and prevention, playing a significant role in reducing the spread of healthcare-associated infections. Nurses, as frontline healthcare providers, play a pivotal role in educating patients about the importance of hand hygiene, demonstrating proper handwashing techniques, and monitoring compliance. This review synthesizes existing literature on the strategies employed by nurses to enhance hand hygiene compliance among admitted patients, highlighting the challenges faced and the impact of effective hand hygiene promotion on patient outcomes.
