Abstract

Hand hygiene is a fundamental aspect of infection control and prevention, playing a significant role in reducing the spread of healthcare-associated infections. Nurses, as frontline healthcare providers, play a pivotal role in educating patients about the importance of hand hygiene, demonstrating proper handwashing techniques, and monitoring compliance. This review synthesizes existing literature on the strategies employed by nurses to enhance hand hygiene compliance among admitted patients, highlighting the challenges faced and the impact of effective hand hygiene promotion on patient outcomes. By examining the various interventions and best practices implemented by nurses, this article provides valuable insights into how healthcare facilities can improve hand hygiene practices and ultimately enhance patient safety.
