Abstract

The patient's complete recovery from upper-limb paralysis inspired the design and use of the mechatronic gadget. Including diagnostics, either active or passive exercises including biofeedback, and reporting, this system was developed to facilitate a patient-specific method of care. There are primarily three parts that make up the mechatronic device. They include a glove designed for hand therapy, a hand health module, as well as a mechatronic frame with such a forearm therapy module. The goal of creating this mechatronic device would have been to allow a person with a paralyzed limb to do passive and active exercises with the help of their healthy limb. Biofeedback, in the form of visual and auditory signals integrated into motion activities, is a crucial part of the recovery process. The essay focuses mostly on the technical components of the project. They comprise not just the hardware and software system's specifications, but also the device's design, kinematics, and dynamics. This study offers a unique approach to treating spastic upper limbs in stroke patients by reevaluating the device currently utilized for rehabilitation. Initial testing demonstrated the effectiveness of mechatronic device with hand or forearm rehabilitation, and a review of its usability and acceptance provided promising early results
