Torque is the labiolingual or buccolingual inclination of the tooth. There can be lingual torque or labial/buccal torque for any tooth. In the lingual torque, the crown will tip lingually while in the buccal torque, the crown will tip buccally. Various torque prescriptions are present in orthodontics.
