We define ⋎ -contraction and ⋎ -weak contraction where ⋎ is a generalized altering distance function and prove the existence and uniqueness of fixed points of these maps in complete metric spaces. Further, we extend it to ⋎ -contraction in orbits by using -orbitally continuity. Our results generalize the result of Wardowski, Theorem 2.1, [10].
